A reading celebrating the publication of Legs of Tumbleweeds, Wings of Lace: An Anthology of Literature by Nevada Women
Witness off-duty Elvis, Miss Atomic at home, and words as trapeze artists. Explore ghosts in the ecotone, hasty breakups, and why reproduction has so many o’s. Discover the saltshaker that’s buried in the microwave, a sci-fi spacesuit’s metallic silver, and that desert bone.
Edited and introduced by Heather Lang, this anthology features remarkable literature by some of today's most talented Nevada writers. Contributors include Jennifer Battisti, Gayle Brandeis, Angela M. Brommel, Brittany Bronson, Christine Cutler, Megan Duffy, Arika Elizenberry, Lana Hanson, Courtney Harler, Tee Iseminger, Cassandra Keenan, Jocelyn Paige Kelly, Andy Kenyon, Christy Leskovar, Chalese Potts, Charlene Stegman Moskal, Elizabeth Quiñones-Zaldaña, C. Moon Reed, Joan Robinson, Vogue M. Robinson, Tomi Simmons, Angela Spires, Arlene Stuart, Ingrid Taylor, Ashley “Ms.AyeVee” Vargas, Erica Vital-Lazare, Laura Wetherington, Gabrielle Faith Williams, and Emilee Wirshing.
All contributors are Nevada women writers who give back to their literary communities in a multitude of ways: as teachers, librarians, workshop coordinators, poetry open mic hosts, and more.
This project is funded in part by a grant from the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
