The Vegas Valley Book Festival After Dark brings together a trio of distinguished authors for a single evening of readings and conversations.
Katherine Boo is the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Behind the Beautiful Forevers, a harrowing nonfiction account of the slums of Mumbai. She is a staff writer for the New Yorker magazine, and was the 2002 recipient of a MacArthur “genius” award.
Geoff Dyer is a novelist and essayist. His collection of essays, Otherwise Known as the Human Condition, won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Criticism. His latest book, White Sands: Experiences from the Outside World, is a collection of nonfiction stories about travel and perception.
Adam Johnson is the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of the novel, The Orphan Master’s Son. His latest collection of short stories, Fortune Smiles, won the National Book Award for Fiction.
This program has been funded in part by a grant from the Pulitzer Prizes Centennial Campfire Initiative, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Beverly Rogers, Carol C. Harter Black Mountain Institute. It has been produced in collaboration with the Vegas Valley Book Festival, Nevada Humanities, and the Inspire Theater.
Admission is free and open to the public. The event will be hosted at The Inspire Theater (107 S. Las Vegas Blvd.).
