A book discussion paired with a whiskey.
In October, Bourbon Book Club attendees will discuss Adam Johnson’s novel, The Orphan Master’s Son, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2013. A great literary adventure, the novel imagines the rise of Pak Jun Do, a professional kidnapper navigating the treacherous byways of closed-off North Korea—in an attempt to save the woman he loves, Sun Moon, a legendary actress “so pure, she didn’t know what starving people looked like.”
Adam Johnson will be appearing in-person on October 15th as part of the 2016 Vegas Valley Book Festival Festival “After Hours.”
The Book Club discussion will be complemented by a Bourbon selected an provided by The Whiskey Attic. Attendees are expected to have read the book in advance.
Copies of The Orphan Master’s Son can be purchased in paperback at The Writer’s Block Book Shop.
