WEDNESDAYS: APRIL 15, 22, 29
For Six Students, Ages 12-14
No time in your busy schedule to write the Next Great American Novel? Come learn the art of Flash Fiction: stories that are 1,000 words or fewer. No style of writing better captures how vivid and immediate life can be—all the humor, heartbreak, happiness, hunger and horror of the everyday packed into a few short lines. In this three-part workshop, we will cover the conventions of this new and popular genre, then provide you with prompts so you can start working on your own flash pieces. In the end, we will publish your stories in a bound volume that you can take home, and you will give a reading for your friends and family.
This workshop is free of charge.
