MONDAYS: AUGUST 3,10,17,24
For Six Students, Ages 9-11
No time in your busy schedule to write the Next Great American Novel? Come learn the art of Flash Fiction: stories that are 1,000 words or fewer. No style of writing better captures how vivid and immediate life can be—all the humor, heartbreak, happiness, hunger and horror of the everyday packed into a few short lines. In this three-part workshop, students will learn the conventions of this new and popular genre, then, using selected prompts, will start working on their own flash pieces. In the end, students will have a published bound volume of their work that they can take home and also give a live reading to friends and family.
