MONDAYS: AUGUST 31 & SEPTEMBER 7 & 14
For Six Students, Ages 12-14
Every fantasy story begins with a fantastical world. In this workshop, students will develop a fully-realized fantasy setting using an illustration, map or photograph for inspiration. They will determine the rules that govern their fantasy world, the peoples and creatures that populate it, and the tensions and conflicts that shape it. The remainder of the workshop will have students develop a piece of short fiction that showcases their fantasy setting. Students will leave with an anthology of all the work produced by the group.
This workshop is free of charge. (Eight students will be selected by lottery on August 24th.)
