FROM 6-7:30PM

For Students, Ages 13-15

As a genre, film allows viewers to explore the diversity of the human condition by offering a mix of storytelling and visual effects. For that reason, moviegoers are used to being dazzled by the final product—the actors onscreen, the beautiful sets, the exquisite lighting and sound design. We often forget that there is an entire group of people behind the camera. In this six-week series, students will examine the various positions on set—from writing the screenplay to acting, and from capturing video to editing footage—in order to create a class film. In joining this community of creative people, students will gain an understanding of the collaboration that goes on behind the scenes.

This workshop is free of charge. (Six students will be selected by lottery on December 28th.)
